Advocacy groups call for more paid leave for Georgia workers
Some advocacy groups want all Georgia workers to get paid paternal leave.
ATLANTA - A little more than a week after Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill into law granting three weeks of paid parental leave to state employees and public school teachers, advocates called for state leaders to expand it. This is an important first step in the right direction towards supporting working families in Georgia, said Allison Glass with 9to5 Georgia. Paid leave is important to everyone regardless of political affiliation and we are glad to have supported this bipartisan effort. However, we know that working Georgians need and deserve more. Three weeks is not enough time and the vast majority of Georgians are still without any paid family or medical leave whatsoever.
