Burton says the big cat caught a fair share of attention, not only from residents who stopped to watch it go by, but police who escorted it from their vehicle while it calmly strolled along the sidewalk. It didn t seem to be bothered by anyone or anything. it was just in it s own little world, walking in the sunshine down Schubert Drive.

A Kamloops woman got quite the sight while out and about on the North Shore on Friday.
Allison Burton was outside her house on Schubert Drive shortly before noon when she came face to face with a beautiful lynx.
The animal wasn t afraid to strike a pose as it made its way down the road.
Burton explained that police were made aware of the animal s location. She noted that it appeared to be unbothered as residents rode their bikes past it. It was great, everyone just stopped, watched and let him go on his way, wrote Burton. The RCMP were aware he was there too as they stopped and monitored him.
