Burlington, IA- The City of Burlington, Alliant Energy, and Trees Forever will celebrate the Alliant Energy One Million Trees Initiative with a tree planting. The planting will take place in Monday, April 25th, at about 9 AM. About 10-15 street trees will be planted in the 1300 and 1400 block of South Leebrick St. by community volunteers. "Burlington has been a fantastic partner over the years doing a great job planting trees and diversifying the canopy. We are very pleased to be recognizing all their hard work while also highlighting the Alliant Energy One Million Trees Initiative: Community Trees," says Trees Forever Field Coordinator Paige Shafer. A Celebration of Trees is scheduled for 9:00 am at the green space between South Leebrick St, Harrison Ave. and Mason Rd. Volunteers are invited to bring their shovels and help representatives from Alliant Energy, Trees Forever and the City of Burlington get trees planted for energy efficiency, pollinator habitat, and more.
