The Alliance Review ALLIANCE FLAGS – Alliance Memorial Day Committee and community volunteers will place American flags on graves of military veterans beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday at Alliance City Cemetery on Vine Street. Those taking part should meet at the maintenance building for flag pickup and section assignments. Call 330-823-5150 with questions. ALLIANCE ZONING – Alliance s Board of Zoning Appeals has canceled its June 2021 meeting. No appeals have been submitted. LOUISVILLE SCHOOLS – Louisville City School District has rescheduled a board meeting from June 3 to June 7. It will deal with the same topics. PORT AUTHORITY – The Board of Directors of Stark County Port Authority plans a regular meeting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the third-floor board room of the Stark Economic Development Board office at 400 Third St. SE in Canton. Letter to the Editor: DAR group gives thanks after wreath event The Alliance Review To the Editor:  On Dec. 19, the Jane Bain Alliance Chapter of the National Society Daughters of American Revolution took part in a national event in which wreaths were placed on the graves of fallen veterans. As part of the Wreaths Across America effort, with the generosity of business and individual sponsors, 170 wreaths were laid on veteran’s graves. A ceremony before the wreath-laying included the Marlboro Volunteers providing a 21-gun salute and bugler Dan Carlisle. Beth Zbasnik managed the placement of wreaths. The Jain Bain Alliance Chapter of NSDAR gives its thanks to Jen Baxter, office manager, Alliance Parks & Rec/Alliance City Cemetery, and Mitch Kirby, cemetery foreman, for their help in making this first event a memorable occasion.
