Photo / Alan Gibson NZ Herald Christmas can t come early enough at least for some this year. The desire for joy and laughter, regathering with family and friends, not to mention putting 2020 behind us. For others, there is fatigue from the emotional cost of a year that will be remembered in the history books. Christmas is a season that evokes mixed emotions for many whānau in Aotearoa. For some, it s a season where families eat together and wait with anticipation to open gifts under a Christmas tree. It can also be another reminder of the passing of a loved one, the pressure of unemployment, the uncertainties of business, loneliness, and a closed border keeping family and friends in far-away lands.
