TOWAMENCIN The many connections have formed a network, an offense that is beginning to flow into form.
“They’ve really started to come together as a group,” North Penn coach Heather Mellow said of her team’s offense, which poured in eight first-half goals Friday. “We have some girls who have been on the team for a while, like Lily Szilagyi, that have been scoring for us. But this year, I feel we’re really balanced. Anybody can go out and score for us. So if (the opposing defense) decides to pick on Lily, we’ve got other girls who can get the job done.”

TOWAMENCIN There was no hesitation from Jordan Zimmerman when she caught the ball behind the arc as time wound down in the third quarter.
The Souderton senior had only made one shot in the game to that point but instead of worrying about past misses, she was focused on making this next one. Her shot was on the mark, tying a game the Indians had trailed almost from the start and a few minutes later, Zimmerman made the assist on the go-ahead layup.
Strong defense and a resilient mentality across the board helped Souderton rally and top North Penn 49-41 on the road Tuesday, spoiling the Knights’ season opener.
