Palike chief has sought Rs 300 crore to asphalt roads in 110 villages that were added to
BBMP limits 13 years ago
T he roads in the 110 villages that were brought under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) along with seven municipal councils and one town in 2007 are in a bad shape; having been dug up for laying Cauvery water pipes or underground drainage pipes. However, if all goes well, the BBMP will asphalt these roads, making commuting easy for motorists.
Residents in Whitefield, Mahadevapura, Horamavu, Bellandur and other areas have staged protests demanding that the civic body make the roads motorable in their respective areas. There have also been instances when residents themselves have shelled out money to make the roads motorable by engaging private contractors.
