A San Diego man who trafficked counterfeit Apple products with other family members was sentenced Tuesday to four years and three months in prison, prosecutors said.
This imprisonment is a component of a plea agreement that encompasses the forfeiture of five San Diego properties in which the brothers held an interest.
Zhimin and Zhiting Liao of San Diego pleaded guilty in a $6.1 million scheme where they attempted to replace 10,000 dud iPhones and iPads in Apple Stores. They were sentenced to 41 months in federal prison.
