Woman allegedly restrained, beaten in torture ordeal

Premium Content Subscriber only Torture charges have been laid against two women who allegedly unleashed multiple assaults on another woman while holding her captive during an ordeal lasting several hours. The victim, 27, was allegedly subjected to numerous beatings at multiple addresses across the Goodna area on June 6. Police will allege that the woman was first ambushed by several people mid Sunday morning while she was at a house in Saint Albans Street, Goodna. Man accused of torturing teenager to stand trial

Premium Content Subscriber only A trial date has been set for a man accused of holding a teenager captive and torturing him for days, tying him to a bed and beating him with a shovel. Police allege Michael James Sculac, then 48, brutally assaulted and held the 19-year-old against his will at an illegal bush camp in Eenie Creek in March 2019. The alleged victim had injuries including scratches, bruising, black eyes and bruises to his thighs consistent with shoe-sole impressions, a court previously heard.
