A political action committee supporting Eric Adams’ mayoral candidacy is out with its first TV ad today a 30-second spot highlighting his relationship to policing in an election that is increasingly focused on the uptick in violence across the city.
“I have a different perspective from everyone else that is running for mayor,” Adams, the Brooklyn borough president and retired NYPD captain, says at the start of the ad. He goes on to describe being assaulted by cops as a teenager growing up in Queens before becoming an officer himself in the 1980s.
