Thanks to the generosity of the Thornburg Foundation, this year’s awards feature an expanded geographic radius of eligibility, additional awards categories and new prize monies for the student awards. He was playing saxophone at a local dance she attended when they met, and eventually they fell in love and built a life together. Watered down decision made on Blackfellows Creek name A decision has been made on a controversial plan to rename Blackfellows Creek but it is not the one we expected. The council s meeting agenda originally contained two motions - to write to the State Government requesting Blackfellow Creek to be renamed, and to rename the adjoining park. Only the second motion was within the council s remit to do on its own.

COVID-19 by the numbers New Mexico health officials yesterday reported 1,275 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total so far to 122,557. The health department has designated 48,105 of those as recovered. Bernalillo County had 444 new cases, followed by Lea County with 123 and Sandoval County with 97. Santa Fe County had 40 new cases.The state also announced 28 additional deaths, including four from Santa Fe County. As of yesterday, 865 people were hospitalized in New Mexico with COVID-19. All 33 New Mexico counties will be re-evaluated today for test-positivity rates and case rates the so-called red-to-green framework to determine readiness for additional economic re-openings.
