A cold case probe into the mystery death of a Wick man is being delayed as investigators require an old-style cassette player to transcribe evidence from a historic fatal accident inquiry.
The body of 24-year-old electrician Kevin Mcleod was recovered from Wick harbour after he had been on a night out in February 1997.
In 2017 police chiefs finally admitted legacy force Northern Constabulary had not treated the death as murder, despite a specific instruction from prosecutors to do so.
Police have since apologised for failures in the handling of the case.

Former SNP MP Natalie McGarry will stand trial in May charged with embezzling more than £25,000 from two Scottish independence organisations.
Ms McGarry, who represented Glasgow East, allegedly embezzled the cash between April 2013 and August 2015.
The 39-year-old, of the city s Clarkston, denies the two charges.
She was excused from attending the hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court during which a six-week trial was scheduled for 4 May.
Ms McGarry s defence counsel Allan McLeod told the court that Health Secretary Jeane Freeman was perhaps the most important witness in this case .
But he raised concerns about her availability during the trial, which begins two days before the Scottish Parliament elections.

THR, the show’s cast will be getting together (virtually) on Sunday (Funday), January 31, at 5 p.m. Central, where they’ll do a live-streamed read of the script for season 2 s “A Rapidly Mutating Virus,” a.k.a. the episode where that particular season of TV goes flying off the rails into full-on self-destruction town. And, if that’s not enough to get nostalgic
