Stephen Atkinson, leader of Ribble Valley Borough Council Council tax will be frozen for some residents in East Lancashire despite neighbouring borough councils announcing a price hike.
Ribble Valley Borough Council has frozen council tax for 10 years out of the last 12, and at a full budget council meeting last week, a proposal by the Ribble Valley Conservative group to freeze council tax in the borough, was approved. A spokesperson for the Ribble Valley Conservative Party said: Despite all the extra work, we have by prudent planning been able to set a budget for next year that maintains current levels of service and you may rest assured that your council will be there to support both residents and businesses in the Ribble Valley with the post pandemic recovery.
