PROVIDENCE The day after Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo surfaced as then President-elect Joe Biden s pick for commerce secretary, a representative of the unofficial research arm of the Republican Party began poking into her ethics filings.
On Wednesday, Jason Gramitt, executive director of the Rhode Island Ethics Commission, confirmed a request from Allan Blutstein, senior vice president of America Rising, for Raimondo s financial filings during her four-year span as state treasurer.
Dated Friday, Jan. 8 at 2:11 p.m., the email read, in part: Good afternoon. Please accept this email as a request for the financial statements filed by former General Treasurer Gina Raimondo (2010-2014).
