LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Two workers were buried alive when a pile of soil eroded at a construction site in Legazpi City, Albay on Tuesday.
Lieutenant Colonel Rodelon Betita, chief of Legazpi City Police Station identified the victims as Allan Andes, 47, helper/steelman and a resident of Brgy. Pinaric and Rolin Bagacay, steelman and resident of Brgy. Puro, all from Legazpi City.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victims were conducting lay-outs of steel frame for the foundation of a four-storey hotel being constructed at Purok 1, Brgy. Pinaric, when the tragic accident happened.
Rescuers immediately responded and dug out the mud where the victims were buried and at around 3:15 p.m., the body of Allan Andes was recovered and immediately brought to hospital. He was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
