Some days after work, I stop by Paradise Store to pick up some medicines or groceries in Clifton or at Motta s across the road. There is a man in a yellow cap who has a little receipt booklet. Yesterday, he charged me Rs30 for my car. I argued with him, not because I don t think I should pay for parking, but because as far as I know, it is illegal. What makes me really angry is that this area at Schon Circle has been a mess for months. If they charged me for parking and used those funds to maintain the infrastructure, I would happily pay even double. You can see in the picture below that there is a giant hole in the road and the entire surface has been ripped out because they are osten.

Photo courtesy KMC Twitter KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation on Tuesday passed a tax-free budget of Rs25.982 billion for the next financial year 2021-22 with a surplus of Rs12 million and estimated expenditures of about Rs25.970bn. In the absence of an elected set-up, KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed approved the budget using the powers of the City Council. No new tax has been imposed in the budget. The administrator said that for the next financial year priority was given to those development schemes which were in the public interest.

No new tax imposed as KMC approves budget of Rs26 billion June 30, 2021 The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has approved a budget of Rs25,982.414 million for the next financial year with a surplus of Rs11.947 million, as the expenditures are estimated at Rs25,970.467 million. Karachi Administrator Laeeq Ahmed on Tuesday approved the budget using the powers of the city council under the notification of the Sindh government. No new tax has been imposed. The administrator said that for the next financial year, priority was given to those development schemes which were in the interest of the public. “Non-development schemes are kept to a minimum; new and ongoing projects of roads, gardens, playgrounds and sports complexes have been added to improve the infrastructure of Karachi.”
