Smith-Cotton High School senior Gage Harris has accepted an athletic scholarship to compete on the track and field team for Central Methodist University in Fayette.
Harris, the son of Laura and Jessee Harris, is a four-year letter winner in track and field for the Tigers and has served on the team’s leadership council the past two years. He was second team All-Central Missouri Activities Conference this year in shot put and has posted personal bests of 50 feet, 1 inch in shot put and 36 meters in discus.
S-C Track Head Coach Brad Hagedorn said, “Gage is an exceptional example of how hard work and dedication can result in top marks. He will flourish at the next level because he is capable of doing the work required of a collegiate athlete.”
