Born January 27 in 1756, Mozart composed more than 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, and choral music. He is among the greatest and most enduringly popular of classical composers, and his influence is profound on subsequent Western art music. All in a 30-year career (he was composing by 5, dead at 35). We enjoy and celebrate the work of Mozart today.
We celebrate the birthday of Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, founding member of The Roots. Since 1987, he has been the group's drummer and joint frontman (with Black Thought). We'll eat cake and feature The Roots on these channels today!
This two-time inductee in the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame(Nirvana & Foo Fighters), holds another distinction.
