The monthly headline inflation as measured by consumer price index for September 2023 has registered an increase by 0.7 per cent compared to 0.6 per cent in August
This is the first time Uganda is registering single digit inflation since September 2022 when inflation rose to 10 percent, before peaking to 10.7 percent in October last year.
The increase in inflation has been attributed on a surge in commodity prices with a number of commodities among which include matooke, milk, dry beans and maize floor all returning increased prices.
