Jigawa govt receives N390m from FG to boost healthcare system

Jigawa State Government has received over N390m from the Federal Government through the state Primary Healthcare Agency for the year 2020.
The permanent secretary of, ministry of health, Dr. Salisu Mu’azu disclosed this at stakeholders meeting on Basic Health Care Provision Fund Implementation in Dutse.
He explained that the money will be distributed to 239 primary Health cares out of 287 in the state for the provision of basic health to less privileged, pregnant women, children below five, and persons with special needs.

Jigawa assembly member, Babban Bare, is dead

A member of the Jigawa state house of assembly representing Kafin-Hausa constituency, Hon. Adamu Babban Bare (APC) is reported dead.
The Chairman House Committee on information, Hon. Aminu Zakari Tsubut, who disclosed the news in Dutse, said the house received with great shock the demise of one of their patriotic and selfless members in the person of Hon. Adamu Babban Bare.
Aminu Zakari described the death of Babban Bare as a great loss not only to his family or assembly members but to the entire APC family and Jigawa state in general.

Jigawa women decry being sidelined in Badaru’s govt

Women leader of a political group called ‘Jigawa Ina Mafita’, Hajia Suwaiba Gumel has decried being sidelined in Badaru’s led APC government, saying that was their reasons for suspending promoting programs and policies of the government.
Speaking shortly after a reconciliation meeting with political groups and social media organization activitist held at MDI Dutse, Hajia Suwaiba said since the disbursement of goats to women groups in 2015 by the Jigawa state governor Badaru Abubakar the program has not to see the light of the day as women waited to see second round but to no avail.

The Chief Magistrate Court 1 sitting in Dutse presided over by Batula Dauda has sentenced one Sabi’u Ibrahim Chamo to six months in correctional centre or options of N20,000 fine and 20 stroke of cane for defamating Jigawa State Governor, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Zainab Baba Santali, the fact of the case was that Sabi’u Chamo had made a post on his Facebook page and made a malicious statement about the state governor.
During the trial, after the first information was read to the defendant, he pleaded guilty to the offence and the court sentenced him to six (6) months in correctional center or Twenty thousand Naira fine (20,000) and 20 strokes of cane to serve as deterrent to others.

I’ve lost my patience, Badaru warns critics

Irked by the spate of criticism against his administration by both the opposition and some APC supporters, Jigawa state governor Muhammed Badaru Abubakar has said he will no longer accept any unnecessary attack or insults from groups or individual in the name of opposing his policies and programs.
Reacting vehemently shortly after inaugurating state party ex-co at the APC secretariat in Dutse, Governor Badaru said simplicity in leadership doesn’t mean stupidity, politicians are using my simplicity and an open-door policy to abuse or attack me through various means such as media without considering the burdens on me.
