Hilgay neighbours in court after abusive remark sparks brawl

An abusive remark led to a man âseeing redâ and coming to blows with a next-door neighbour, a court has been told.
Hilgay resident Jonathan Cooper was enraged by Mark Diamondâs comment to Cooperâs adult daughter and grabbed a staircase spindle before going to confront him.
Lynn Magistratesâ Court heard yesterday that they swapped punches and each of them was hit with the spindle as the fight played out in front of fellow neighbours in Foresters Avenue.

Lynn magistrates have heard how a woman spent almost £1,000 on credit cards and an account she had taken out in her sisterâs name.
Chloe Kirk admitted four counts of fraud by false representation when she took out and used a Misguided credit account and credit cards issued by Argos, Ocean and Very.
All of the offences happened between December 1, 2019 and May 11, 2020.

The 25-year-old, of Castle Close, Reffley, pleaded guilty to the charges when she appeared before town magistrates on Thursday.
Mitigating solicitor Alison Muir said the account and cards were taken out in the name of her clientâs sister.

A Lynn woman who suffered the âultimate betrayalâ of a best friend having a relationship with her partner has appeared in court for assaulting him.
Cara Clarke, 32, has been made the subject of a two-year restraining order, preventing her from contacting her ex or going to his home in Millfleet Court, Stonegate Street.
She appeared before magistrates in Lynn on Thursday to plead guilty to two counts of criminal damage at the property, using violence to secure entry and assaulting him.

Prosecutor Stacie Cossey said police received a 999 call from the man on October 4, 2020, saying that Clarke had smashed a window.
King s Lynn man given suspended prison sentence for harassing ex-partner and offensive messages to her mother

A Lynn man who harassed his ex-partner and sent offensive texts to her mother has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Ronnie Lee Dunne. 23, was told that he had narrowly avoided immediate custody for the offences, some of which had been committed while on police bail.
Dunne, of Archdale Street, had pleaded guilty to harassment without violence to his ex-partner between September 16 and November 11 last year, at earlier hearings.

He had also admitted criminal damage to a window at her home and her iPhone and sending the offensive texts to her mum on January 2 this year.
