Aston Villa twice equalised to draw 2-2 with Reading in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, the second leveller on 91 minutes.
The Royals were ahead inside three minutes of Saturday’s fixture at Walsall FC, Angharad James scoring with a close-range header after Lisa Weiss had parried Jess Fishlock’s 20-yard strike.
Emma Mitchell and Bethan Roberts both tested the Villa keeper, who collided with Lauren Bruton when trying to gather her own loose clearance as Reading remained on top in the first half.

Chelsea beat Manchester United 2-1 to replace them at the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League on goal-difference with a game still in hand.

Two matches, two wins. Tottenham Hotspur Women played their second match under new manager Rehanne Skinner, this time against Aston Villa at The Hive in Edgware. Spurs’ newfound offensive freedom served them well against the newly-promoted Villains Tottenham got a first half penalty from Alex Morgan, a Villa own goal by Caroline Siems, and the first ever top flight goal from Rosella Ayane to take all three points, winning 3-1.
The biggest news prematch was the return of Kit Graham to the starting lineup, who has been missing for weeks with an undisclosed injury.
