Paris, Mar 14 (Prensa Latina) French scientist Françoise Keita Paquet received the Carlos J. Finlay Order for her contribution to the creation of Cuba's homegrown Soberanas vaccines at a ceremony presided over by Ambassador Otto Vaillant.
In September, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian spoke of the “unlimited” potential to expand Tehran-Havana ties, and both sides have highlighted the fields of medicine and agriculture as ideal areas for cooperation. Cuba confirió la Orden Carlos J. Finlay al director del Instituto Pasteur de Irán, Alireza Biglari, por su aporte a la biotecnología, la docencia y la actividad científica de las dos naciones.
El Consejo de Estado, mediante el Decreto Presidencial número 281, decidió la entrega de la condecoración y recalcó la importancia de la contribución del científico iraní en el perfeccionamiento de acuerdos de transferencia tecnológica de vacunas de Cuba.
De acuerdo con la
ACN, a propuesta de la ministra de Ciencia, Tecnología y Medio Ambiente, Elba Rosa Pérez, la Orden reconoció la colaboración de Biglari en el desarrollo de Soberana 02. El apoyo del científico permitió llevar a cabo estudios clínicos de la fase III con ese candidato vacunal y luego obtener la aprobación para el uso de emergencia de este producto en Irán.

Finlay Order to the director of the Pasteur Institute of Iran, Alireza Biglari, for her contribution to biotechnology, teaching and scientific activity in both countries, local media reported today. The Council of State, through Presidential Decree number 281, ordered the delivery of said award and highlighted the contribution of the Iranian expert to the improvement of agreements for technology transfer of vaccines of the Caribbean nation.
According to the Cuban News Agency, at the proposal of the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment Elba Rosa Pérez, the Order recognizes Biglari s collaboration in the development of the immunogen against Covid-19 Sovereign 02, a project promoted by the Finlay Institute of Vaccines (IFV) of this capital.
