Federal Government Funding YWCA Program Against Human Trafficking

Moncton, NB, Canada / 91.9 The Bend Mar 5, 2021 5:13 PM The Canadian Government has made a nearly $350 000 commitment to the YWCA Moncton for their Brave YW Project. Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair announced the funding via web conference, stating the commitment will help combat a “heinous” crime. The Brave YW Project raises awareness about human trafficking to young women and non-binary youth between the ages of 11-19. It aids in access to housing, food security, peer mentorship, professional development training, counselling and other issues at-risk-youth face.
