(Polk County, IA) A Madrid man s has been charged in a crash that killed a Madrid woman. Thirty-six-year-old Cameron Kennedy is charged with Serious Injury by vehicle and Leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. The Polk County Sheriff s Office says 30-year-old Alicia Kus died after being ejected from a truck that crashed at 5:30 a.m. April 24th. The crash happened at NW 158th Avenue and NW Madrid Drive, south of Madrid.
The Sheriff s Office say the vehicle involved, a 2006 Nissan Titan Crew Cab truck was found on its side in the field next to the road. Investigators say the driver of truck failed to negotiate the curve and left the roadway. Kennedy is the owner of the truck.

A Madrid man has been charged in connection with an April crash in northwest Polk County that left his passenger dead.
Cameron Kennedy, 36, was arrested and charged Thursday with serious injury by vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, according to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff s Office.
The crash happened when Kennedy failed to negotiate a curve near NW 158th Avenue and NW Madrid Drive and left the roadway, the release said. Deputies were called to the scene around 5:30 a.m. April 24 and found Kennedy s truck on its side in a nearby field.
