Freehold Borough Memorial Day parade returns to honor fallen military heroes
FREEHOLD – After being scuttled in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic, Freehold Borough’s annual Memorial Day parade will return in 2021.
The 147th Memorial Day parade will be held on Memorial Day, May 31. The parade will be preceded by a Service of Reflection to be held at Elks Point at 8:30 a.m. All members of the community are invited to attend the service.
The Service of Reflection is held to honor the memory of all Freehold and other American servicemen and servicewomen who have lost their lives defending the United States.
We have been so used to events being cancelled over the past 14 months, so when we hear an event is taking place we celebrate that news, and that s just the case for the Freehold Memorial Day Parade.
The Freehold Memorial Day Parade is a beautiful event and a wonderful tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. And this year the event also symbolizes the hope of all area residents that we are getting back to a higher level of normalcy.
The parade will also feature some amazing veteran groups, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as well as military, religious, school and youth groups from our area. The parade takes place Memorial Day, May 31st and it starts at 10:00 am. from the corner of Brinkerhoff Avenue and Main Street.
