The Lolo s proposed action comes as a variety of recreation, conservation and wilderness advocacy groups have brought attention to forest plan revision on the adjacent Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, which borders the Lolo over the state line in Idaho. The two forests share the storied Great Burn area west of Missoula and the Hoodoo Recommended Wilderness Area therein.

MISSOULA – The University of Montana will bring another diverse program of speakers to campus for this year’s slate of President’s Lecture Series events.
During the 1800s and 1900s, Native American children were forced to attend boarding schools, where they were physically and emotionally abused for speaking Indigenous languages.
President of Blackfeet Community College, Dr. Karla Bird made the announcement.
“Today is a very important day as Blackfeet Community College unveils its MMIP database and online reporting portal,” said Dr. Bird. “Here at Blackfeet Community College we adhere to several cultural values, which include the values of leadership and respect. Respect and leadership within the Blackfoot worldview includes a high level of responsibility to protect and value all forms of sacred life.”
