(Source: Funeral Home) AKWESASNE (WWNY) - Margaret C. “Maggie” Terrance, 69, a longtime resident of Terrance Road, passed away late Saturday evening, April 24, 2021 at The Alice Center in Malone. Maggie was born on September 7, 1951 in Malone, the daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret (Jacobs) Terrance.  She attended Salmon River Central Schools, graduating in 1969.  She continued her education at D’Youville College in Buffalo, where she achieved her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

Monday, April 26, 2021 - 7:41 pm AKWESASNE – Margaret C. “Maggie” Terrance, 69, a longtime resident of Terrance Road, passed away late Saturday evening, April 24, 2021 at The Alice Center in Malone. There will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later day with burial in Hogansburg Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory the Hogansburg-Akwesasne Fire Department or the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Service. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.

(Provided photo — Alice Hyde hospital) MALONE Visitation at the Alice Center’s Skilled Nursing Facility has resumed, following updated guidelines from the state’s Department of Health. According to a press release from Phillip Rau, a spokesperson for the Malone hospital, visitation at the Skilled Nursing Facility had previously been suspended on March 18 after an employee at the facility tested positive for COVID-19. The resumption of visits at the Skilled Nursing Facility in February followed a months-long suspension of visitation, due to positive tests for the virus in November 2020.

Malone nursing home declared COVID-free

For the first time since October, the Alice Center nursing home in Malone is officially without any active cases of COVID-19. The Alice Hyde Medical Center, which oversees the Alice Center, announced on Monday that its skilled nursing facility would open its doors to visitors starting on Feb. 22. Residents of its assisted living program, which is located in a different part of the same building that houses the skilled nursing facility, were able to receive visitors starting on Feb. 8 — but until recently, the skilled nursing facility still had a positive case there, so that part of the building remained closed to visitors.
