After watching 27 years of elementary school students pass through her classroom, and even with the increased use of technology, teacher Jennifer Vickrey says students still have the same needs as when she started. You have to be patient and flexible, said Vickrey, this year s recipient of the Star Courier s Teacher of the Year Award. Even when the world around us is changing, kids are the same.
That observation has held up through this year, the most challenging of Vickrey s tenure. She said she is proud the way the school s staff performed under the uncertainty of this past school year.
