PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi engaged in a fiery debate in the Lower House on Wednesday, raising the temperature of the National Assembly.
As the session resumed, Speaker Asad Qaiser gave floor to Bilawal to deliver his speech. He first accused the speaker of not protecting the rights of the opposition members, saying that “the whole nation saw that if you had not rigged the parliamentary process, you wouldn’t have received 172 votes.”
Taking a dig at Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, Bilawal said that an ‘unelected member’ kept rejecting the opposition’s amendments. Citing the rules of business to run the House, the PPP chairperson pointed that as per Rule 276, if there is a voice vote challenge, the speaker has to count it. ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has decided to issue production orders for the members of the parliament (MPs) so that they can vote in the upcoming Senate elections, confirmed sources.
Sources from the leader of the opposition s office told Geo News that production orders for those who are currently in jail will be issued, adding that it is the right of every parliamentarian to vote.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and former foreign minister Khawaja Asif are the notable PML-N lawmakers who are in jail.
On the other hand, PPP s Khursheed Shah and MNA Ali Wazir Khan are also under arrest. Sources confirmed that production orders for the four parliamentarians have been sent to the speaker.

Sources from the Leader of the Opposition’s office told Geo News that production orders will be issued for those who were currently in custody, adding it was the right of every parliamentarian to vote.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif and former foreign minister Khawaja Asif are the notable detained lawmakers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Besides, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Khursheed Shah and MNA Ali Wazir Khan are also under detention.
