Eleven Ministers representing the Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC), who participated in the transitional government before the military junta seized power in a coup d’état on October 25, announced that they have submitted their resignations in writing to Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok, disavowing the agreement signed in Khartoum on Sunday with junta leader Gen Abdelfattah El Burhan, stating that the agreement “legitimises and perpetuates the military coup regime”.
Economic expert Hasan Bashir has warned for the negative effects of the current political tensions on the domestic economy, as well as foreign investments. In Khartoum, school lessons have temporarily been brought back to four hours daily because of the scarcity of bread. The Ministry of Trade has set up arrangements with neighbouring countries to transport import goods over land.

The US Dollar rate reached new highs as its exchange value increased by two Pounds in a week. Meanwhile, the economic wing of the Council of Ministers approved the establishment of a gold stock market and an agricultural crops stock market yesterday.
The US Dollar rate again jumped to an unprecedented high yesterday as the Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS) announced SDG 404.4027 for purchase and SDG406.4247 for sale, an increase of two Sudanese Pounds in a week.
The El Baraka Bank recorded the highest price for buying and selling US Dollars, as it determined SDG407 for purchase and SDG409 for sale.
