Doha: Asian champions Qatar yesterday staged a fierce comeback to overturn a one-goal deficit in the first period to defeat Bahrain 28-23 in their IHF Handball World Championship Main Round - Group II match.
At the Cairo Stadium Sports Hall in Cairo, Egypt, the first period ended with Bahrain holding a narrow 14-13 lead.
Qatari star Rafael Capote and Bahrain s Mohamed Ahmed both managed to score five goals each in the first 30 minutes.
