The Oyo State Police Command and the State Security Network Agency known as Amotekun have disagreed over how the later have been handling suspected criminals arrested by its men.
The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Chris Enwonwu, in a statement on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, alleged that Amotekun had brought badly injured suspect who could not be taken into custody to the police.
The CP said the police would not longer accept to keep suspects in bad shape in their custody because such suspects could die.

The police said some of the suspects arrested and brought to the station by Amotekun were in poor health conditions not admissible for detention.

The Oyo State Police Command has alleged that the state security network, also known as Amotekun Corps, usually assaults suspects and extorts money from them.
The state police command on Tuesday advised Amotekun to desist from assaulting suspects.
