Drug War: Arewa youths back Marwa, seek partnership with NDLEA On By Kingsley Omonobi ABUJA Leaders of the Arewa Youth Forum, AYF, have expressed their support for Nigeria’s renewed fight against drug abuse being coordinated by the Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd). The northern youths also sought to partner with the Agency in its offensive action against illicit drugs. Speaking when he led national executive members of the forum on a courtesy visit to Marwa on Tuesday in Abuja, National President of the AYF, Alhaji Gambo Gujungu, said the Northern youths have decided to support the war against drugs because young Nigerians are now high consumers of narcotics.

Justify confidence repose in you, AYF tells new Service Chiefs On By Ibrahim HassanWuyo The Arewa Youth Forum, AYF, has joined teeming Nigerians to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for listening to the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens by removing the service chiefs. “This singular act has shown that the President and Commander-in-Chief is sensitive to the desire of the citizenry and is ever determined to re jig the security architecture for national development,” AYF said. Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, National President  of ACF , on Wednesday ,also congratulated the newly appointed service chiefs and hoped that they will justify the confidence repose in them, believing that as seasoned military officers  with impeccable credentials ,their choice was on merit and therefore they are expected to ensure positive changes in the security situation which has overtime, become a sad story, particularly in the North.

Rescind quit notice, compensate Fulani, AYCF tells Akeredolu On By Ibrahim HassanWuyo National President of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Alhaji Shettima Yerima has admonished the governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, to rescind the quit order he earlier gave the Fulani residing in his state and compensate those who fell victim of the attack on Fulani communities in the southwest state. Yerima said in Kaduna on Sunday that the quit notice order by the Governor of Ondo State Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN and subsequent attack and destruction of property in Oyo were not only worrisome but disturbing. “Let it be known that the constitution of Nigeria guarantees every Nigerian to live in any part of this country and free to engage in any legitimate business of his or her choice,  the Governor of Ondo State being a learned person is expected to know better.
