ALGONA One of the highlights of Founders’ Day each year is the “Voices from the Past” cemetery walk at Riverview Cemetery in Algona. This event is jointly produced by the Algona Branch of AAUW and the Kossuth County Genealogical Society. It is free to the public through the generosity of the Algona Founders’ Day Committee and the Haggard-Twogood Charitable Trust.
The annual STEM event, sponsored by the Algona Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) took place Tuesday April 4. The event annually honors eighth grade girls from Algona and Bishop Garrigan Schools. These girls, recommended by their school’s math and science teachers, receive certificates for their outstanding work in: science, technology, engineering, and/or math (STEM).
