The Record
Thousands of people were still without power in Stockton and San Joaquin County Wednesday after a powerful storm brought rain and howling winds through the region.
On Wednesday morning, some local residents took advantage of a break in the storm to begin cleaning up. Alexis Villa of Stockton, who lives on El Camino Avenue in north Stockton, was sweeping up the debris and assessing the damage.
She said a couple of fence boards were blown off, a branch from a neighbor s tree hit her car and a canopy in her backyard was bent. Not too bad. I ve seen worse, Villa said. Two years ago (during a storm) a tree came down and landed right on the stop sign.
