Alabama Set to Host SEC Softball Tournament Riding 10-Game Win Streak
The last time Alabama, the No. 3 seed, hosted it won the SEC tourney and went on to win the Women s College World Series title

After a long wait Alabama finally gets to host the SEC Softball Tournament.
The Crimson Tide was set to host the event last year until the pandemic shut down spring athletics in March.
“This is the best 13-team tournament in the country,” Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy said. “There is going to be some really good games and some high-level softball.”
The last time Alabama hosted the tournament was 2012. That’s the year the Crimson Tide won the tourney and the Women’s College World Series title.

The SEC on Tuesday named Alabama utility player Bailey Hemphill as its 2021 softball player of the year.
Hemphill, a graduate student from Louisiana, becomes the second winner of the conference player of the year in program history. Charlotte Morgan won the award in 2009 and 2010.
The SEC also named junior Montana Fouts as its co-pitcher of the year alongside Arkansas’ Mary Haff. Fouts is Alabama’s seventh-ever SEC pitcher of the year and second since 2019.

Alabama extends their winning streak to ten straight after their second consecutive sweep of an SEC opponent. The Crimson Tide bats have double digits hits in five straight.
Montana Fouts also stays on a hot streak pitching in all three wins.
