NEW ORLEANS - A regional chain of restaurants faces a wrongful termination lawsuit in New Orleans federal court.
New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company was sued by a former employee on April 29 by plaintiff Peter Bassil, who had worked in management for the restaurant chain since 2012.
According to the complaint, Bassil witnessed the defendant s executives dismiss a female manager and retain a male one when one of the restaurant locations was closing. The woman then filed a lawsuit against the restaurant chain and Bassil gave his honest recount of what he witnessed.
Bassil says that the executives then tried to coerce him into affirming that the meeting had gone differently and accused him of starting bad rumors when he gave his honest experience.
