Ryanair expects to lose almost €1bn (£880m) in its current financial year but Michael O Leary has forecast a dramatic recovery this summer as the vaccine rollout continues.
The airline said it was cautiously guiding a loss of between £850m and £950m for its current financial year to on March 31 - about five times bigger than its previous record loss in 2009.
The carrier s chief executive said the year had been the most challenging in the airline s 35-year history. However, Mr O Leary said he expected vaccines to trigger a dramatic recovery this summer, particularly in the UK.
