In beating No. 12 Penn State 13-6 at Homewood Field, Johns Hopkins secured its most meaningful win since topping No. 5 Maryland in the Big Ten Semifinals in 2019 (the Blue Jays also beat the Terps in the season finale the weekend prior, when Maryland was 11-2 and ranked No. 2 in the IL Media Poll).
With the win, the Blue Jays go to 2-2 on the season and the Nittany Lions fall to 1-3.
Connor DeSimone was the spark plug offensively, finishing with four goals and an assist.
Face-off specialist Narewski won 12-of-21 draws and picked up five groundballs, but he was particularly impactful in the third quarter. After starting 0-5, Narewski won 11-straight draws from the 3:59 mark of the first quarter through the 2:33 mark of the third, during which the Blue Jay defense held Penn State without a shot.
