The fat and oil industry is one of the most dynamically developing segments of Kazakhstan's agricultural industry. The country is actively increasing the processing of oilseeds and the export of fat and oil products. According to the National Oilseed Processors Association, in 2022/23 MY, the production of crude oil in Kazakhstan increased by 50% y-o-y – up to 417.6 thsd tonnes. The production of refined oil also grew – up to 145.3 thds tonnes. The growth of oil exports totaled 75%.
