Revel is a marketplace for women over 50 to host and attend small, local gatherings on topics of their choice. Founded by Alexa Wahr and Lisa Marrone in 2019, Revel is backed by investors that include Y Combinator and is headquartered in San Francisco.
Revel, a San Francisco, CA-based community and event platform for midlife women, raised $3.5M in seed funding.
The round was led by August Capital with participation from Forerunner Ventures, Y Combinator, Maveron, Alexis Ohanian, Villi Iltchev, Chris Bennett, Elizabeth Weil, Andy McLoughlin, and Gordon Sween.
The company also acquired The Woolfer, a NYC-based social platform and website for women over 40. The newly integrated company, which will be called Revel, will become the most significant multi-platform community of women 40 +.
