J.P. Devine Review: ‘The Flight Attendant’ Redux
TV series offers a dark candy box of frights, flights and fantasies.

Full disclosure. I have been a fan of Kaley Cuoco since I discovered her in “The Big Bang Theory,” as “Penny,” a struggling actress with less than a Rhodes Scholar’s certificate.
Then out of the blue, there she is as Cassie Bowden, a functioning alcoholic flight attendant given to hook ups in the unisex latrine.
Viewers already know how she woke up after a night of booze and bed-walking with handsome Alex Sokolov (Michiel Huisman, Sonny in “Treme,” Daario Naharis in “Game of Thrones) to find his throat cut. OK, done. If you just checked in, he’s dead. No. Yes. No. Kinda.
The Flight Attendant spoilers – both TV show and book – follow.
The Flight Attendant, based on Chris Bohjalian s 2018 novel of the same name, was a frantic dash from start to finish as Cassie scrambled to piece together the truth about the murder of Alex Sokolov and disentangle herself from the whole sorry mess.
Eventually she managed to do just that (after enough alcohol to knock out a blue whale, we should add).
It was Buckley, one of her flings, who did away with Alex. He turned out to be an assassin called Felix who was acting on the orders of Miranda s boss Victor.

I had no idea who Kaley Cuoco was, and then all of a sudden, she appears as one of the stars in one of HBOMAX’s truck load of shows on the brand new network.
There she was, the dumb but gifted comedian on “The Big Bang Theory,” a dumb but gifted series that everyone but I loved. I soon got hooked. More on her later.
