TUSCALOOSA, Ala. A season-high 115 points thanks in part to five double-digit performances propelled No. 11 Alabama basketball over Georgia 115-82 on Saturday afternoon in Coleman Coliseum.
The 115 points is the most in Crimson Tide program history against an SEC opponent.
Senior wing Herbert Jones led Alabama in points with 21, a new career high. Jones also tied senior forward Alex Reese for the most rebounds in the game with five.
Four other Crimson Tide players registered double-digit points, those players being freshman guard Josh Primo with 19, sophomore guard Jaden Shackelford with 18, sophomore guard Jahvon Quinerly with 16 and senior guard John Petty Jr. with 13.

Well, we knew it had to come at some point. Even the Gumpiest of Gumps didn t expect the Tide to go 18-0 in conference play. In a showdown with second place Missouri, Bama came up just short by a score of 68-65. For the first 28 minutes of game action, a final score that close didn t seem possible. The Tide roared back from a 22 point deficit with a 21-2 run starting at the 12:38 mark, but couldn t overcome the poor shooting and defense that had put them in that hole to begin with. And about these 11 a.m. games, can we just stop with that already? Two Saturdays in a row the team has come out flat and had to battle to try to comeback. Coach Nate Oats said he told the players “ESPN wants us because we are the best team in the SEC, so we have to figure out a way to start better in these games.”
The joke was almost on the Tigers.
Dru Smith and Missouri built a 22-point lead in the second half, then held off a frantic rally by the Crimson Tide for a 68-65 victory on Saturday.
The Tigers held their largest lead with 13:05 left and were still up by 20 with less than six minutes remaining.
“Our guys started settling, because they looked at the score instead of finishing the game on the floor,” Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin said. “You can’t do that with this level of team. But on the flip side, tremendous execution defensively down the stretch on the last possessions.”
