THE BUZZ California YIMBYs suddenly have an ally in the White House.
Housing production advocates have exulted in the Biden administration’s effort to alter zoning laws via a sweeping infrastructure push. The language of the proposal which faulted restrictions on multi-family zoning because they “drive up the cost of construction and keep families from moving to neighborhoods with more opportunities” echoed the central argument of many Californians, including Gov. Gavin Newsom, who blame local government resistance to building anything except more single-family homes as a central reason for California’s dire
Dems push hard to end the filibuster to acquire absolute power
Democrats want to totally silence Republicans by ending the filibuster in the Senate. They want all the power with none going to the minority.
The push is on. If they do push this through, they will have free rein to do anything they desire. Since the Democrat Party is controlled by communists, fascists, and socialists, people should be deeply concerned.
Watch Warren propagandize eliminating the voice of the minority so she can do whatever she wants:
Understand this: The filibuster gives veto power to Mitch McConnell. And to the gun industry. And to the oil industry. For generations, racist senators used the filibuster to block anti-lynching laws and civil rights bills. It’s still blocking progress today. It’s got to go. pic.twitter.com/9JreV5i029

Sen. Alex Padilla began to choke up. He was talking about his father, Santos Padilla, an immigrant from Mexico.
The California Democrat was recalling the time he brought his father with him when he was seeking the endorsement of a labor organization during his first run for office. The elder Padilla wasn’t there to provide moral support he was living evidence that the young politician came from a place where the fight for dignity wasn’t an abstract concept.

Alex Padilla is officially California’s first Latino senator, after being sworn in this afternoon alongside Georgia Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
Padilla, a longtime public servant who most recently served as California’s secretary of state, will take over Vice President Kamala Harris’s seat. Selected by California Gov. Gavin Newsom last year, Padilla will complete the remaining two years in Harris’s term and be up for reelection in 2022.
Now that Padilla, Ossoff, and Warnock have been seated, Democrats have a 50-person caucus and the Senate majority, given Harris’s tie-breaking vote. They’re poised to take on an impeachment trial, approve Cabinet nominees, and weigh an ambitious legislative agenda in the coming weeks.
