A report predicts Ohioans will spend $31.4 billion this year on holiday shopping, which would be an increase from the $29.3 billion spent in 2020 and $27.5 billion in 2019.
Athens well-represented at major Southeast art exhibit ArtFields 2021
Ten artists from Athens had their work accepted into ArtFields 2021, one of the Southeast’s largest art exhibits featuring works from 400 artists in 12 states.
More than $100,000 in prize money is awarded at the show, which runs from April 23 through May 1 in Lake City, S.C.
Athens has more artists represented in the show than any other city in Georgia, according to local artist Noah Saunders, winner of the ArtFields People’s Choice 3D Award in 2019.
Saunders, who won $12,500 for his wire art, has again been selected by ArtFields to showcase one of his works. The exhibition was canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
