The PHS varsity boys basketball team entered the new year on a positive note with a 59-43 win at Louisiana Monday.
After losing two straight, the Panthers (4-2) were able to get back on track by stifling the Bulldogs early on in building a 30-13 halftime lead.
Palmyra ended up out-scoring Louisiana in every quarter to win going away.
Aaron Stamper scored 16 and Abe Haerr 12 to lead the offense, while Laydin Lochman, nine, Bear Bock, nine and Quade Plunkett, eight, just missed scoring in double figures.
Also scoring were Adam Goodwin, four, and Alex Loman, three.
The Panthers now prepare for their 2021 debut at the Highland Tournament Jan. 5 when the top-seeds take on eighth-seeded Scotland County in the quarterfinals.
