Indian street food restaurant celebrates opening day in Devizes

Naan Guru, in the Brittox, has already proven popular with locals. It s colourful exterior, created thanks to Brighton based artist Sean Lyons, has caught the attention of many passer-bys. Claudia Serrano-Davey, manager of Naan Guru, said it had been a busy first day. “People have been really enthusiastic, and I think they liked the chance to try something quite different,” she said. “It’s been really good, people were big fans of our breakfast items then lunch was also busy. The chicken tikka naan wrap has been the most popular so far today.” Claudia and the rest of the team, which includes Alex Joll and John Serrano-Davey, have taken inspiration from across the globe.

As the UK’s departure from the EU loomed, Alex Joll, who runs the Free Range Cafe in Trowbridge’s grand old town hall, thought he had better stockpile one of his key products. “It’s quite random,” he said. “Our coffee comes from Peru, but is stored in a huge warehouse in Germany before coming to the UK, where it is roasted. I thought I’d better stock up just in case. I got in an extra month’s worth a little while ago to tide us over just in case.”
