Top 10 Herbivores You Probably Want To Avoid

When we think of dangerous creatures, the ones that most often pop to mind are tigers, lions, bears, etc. We almost never think of non-carnivorous animals

10 Unusual Scientific Scales

It seems today if you want to make your name famous you have two choices – star in “leaked” home pornography tapes, or discover something that has so far eluded the capacity to be measured, find a way to measure it, develop a way to rank the measurements or place them into categories, and attach your name to the resulting scale. For example, the “Frater Scale” could be a ranking of items on a list - a better name for a "top 10 list" - where item 1 ranks as first on the Frater Scale. Not all scales are named after their inventors, but many are. It seems almost anything can be measured and if it can be measured, someone is going to come up with a scale to rate the measurement. Here are ten unusual scientific scales.

Top 10 Sea Survivors - Listverse

I have always been fascinated by people that survived extreme situations. I always wondered how long I would be able to survive if I was lost on a snow covered mountain or ledge locked on a cliff or trapped in the middle of the ocean on a raft. The answer is – It depends. It all depends on how prepared you are for the situation, or even how lucky you are. The simplest of things could end up saving your life, like a nail or a piece of string. It was surprising to learn that almost all the people from this list were rescued just in time accept, in my opinion, the longest survivors. Thousands of people have been lost at sea, never to be seen or heard from again, but yet, there are a small handful that survive against every odd. One of the basic rules of survival is 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food. Could you prove this rule wrong?

10 More Frightening Fates of Modern Leaders

Back in August 2011, I submitted a list of ten frightening fates of modern leaders prior to the possible murder or execution of deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, which was subsequently published after his death. Based on the comments of that list it is clear that several readers desired to see a second list that included not only Gaddafi, but also several others, as well as links to images of their frightening fates. I am willing to comply with that request and once again must point out that not all of the men listed below are necessarily villains who merited their deaths by non-natural causes, but I am curious which ones you readers think did deserve the violence inflicted upon them described below and if so why?
