FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (41-30) left themselves plenty of work to do late in Tuesday night’s matchup with the Kansas City Monarchs (45-24), trailing by run with only six outs remaining, but Alex Boxwell’s two-run home in the eighth inning lifted the RedHawks to an 8-6 win in front of 2,333 fans at Newman Outdoor Field. Boxwell’s fourth home run of the year, a towering shot that carried over the right-center field wall, allowed Alex DuBord to come on and slam the door on Kansas City in the ninth inning to seal the victory and earn his seventh save of the season.

FARGO, N.D. The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks were shut out for the first time this season by the Milwaukee Milkmen in front of 1,717 fans at Newman Outdoor Field on Wednesday night. The 5-0 loss was their fourth straight, three of which have come to the Milkmen. Milwaukee scored two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth on the way to their sixth straight win.
Despite traffic on the bases, RedHawks right-handed pitcher Brent Jones was able to escape the first three innings without a run allowed. However, in the fourth and fifth innings, he gave up five runs on seven hits. Jones ended the day after five innings of work with five runs on 11 hits and three walks. He is now 0-2 with a 5.29 ERA on the season. The only error in the game came in the top of the 5th inning, when RedHawks left fielder Will Zimmerman tried to throw out Milwaukee’s DH Christian Correa at third base as the ball sailed over and ended up in the RedHawks

FARGO, N.D. The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are one week away from opening up their season against Cleburne. Who will fans see take the field this summer? Some key returners are back from last year, however new faces were added by manager Chris Coste that added some local flavor to the roster.
Two of them provide some depth to the pitching staff. Fargo south alum Alex DuBord joins the team after being released from the San Francisco Giants organization last summer and Austin Ver Steeg who was part of Coste’s squad at Concordia graduating in the spring of 2020.
